What's the difference in Transfer Showers versus Roll-in Showers?

A Transfer shower are designed to support standing user who can stand to transfer. Most of the transfer shower have a 36” X 36” dimension with a 48”X30” clear floor space in front. This type of shower are not design to accommodate wheelchair inside
On the other hand Roll-in Showers are designed to be a waterproof area large enough to accommodate a person in a wheelchair to remain in the chair to shower. This design will accommodate caregivers to be inside the stall at the same time. A preferred minimum dimension for a roll-in shower is 36”- 42”X60” with a 60”X30” clear space in front.
